I am writing in support of the trail from Black Butter Ranch. I am a home owner at Black Butte and an enthusiastic participant in all things “Sisters Country;” from the rodeo to shopping, fine dining and working out at Sisters Athletic Club. I would very much like to see a bike trail connecting these two great places. I am sure that your list of reasons for building this trail is long and thoughtful. Mine is mostly personal:

1. Safety. When we bike to Sisters, we have to be on Highway 20, and this is dangerous.
2. Exercise: We have school-age children and we would rather they learn to bicycle to stores and restaurants, rather than drive.
3. Congestion: Less cars mean less clogging of the highways and roads around Sisters. We all know how slow it is from Tollgate to the Prineville intersection, on many weekends and holidays.
